After spending Billions of dollars, Elon musk is finally ready to launch the first-ever privately owned, crewed spacecraft.

After a long struggle to give himself a try to explore space for the common good of mankind, Elon Musk is finally ready to send humans into space. The rocketship is scheduled to launch its spaceflight on Wednesday and if it goes as well as planned, it will be the first time after NASA’s space shuttle program Mission in 2011, that humans have taken off for space from the soil of United States of America. What makes this ride more interesting and intrigued is that this will also be the first crewed spaceflight from a private company, ever.

The stakes are also high because if this mission goes successful, this will begin a new era of space exploration, more importantly, the subject matter would probably come out of the hands of the government and public sector, and enter into the playing field of private giants.

But if Dragon Demo 2 gets failed, its gonna take much time for crewed spaceflights to return to America again.

The SpaceX story

Elon started SpaceX using the $100 million payouts of his company Paypal. SpaceX was founded in 2002. Musk’s mission was to put plants on mars, but it was quite expensive to acquire rockets to do that, so he started his own company SpaceX. In its early stage, the venture Spacex seemed to be a failure. Also the first three launches of  Falcon failed during 2006-2008. But the fourth SpaceX got to succeed in 2008, and we all know the fifth one carried a satellite into the orbit in 2009.

After that success, NASA also helped in funding, and SpaceX accelerated the development of Falcon 9, which took its first flight in 2010. Since then the two-staged rocket has launched 83 times, carrying cargos including satellites into orbit, and supplies to the international space station.

But the company’s most ambitious project is SpaceX Starship is currently underway. The starship is expected to go to the moon, Mars, and beyond.

The Crewed spaceflight which is scheduled to take off on Wednesday is one step towards the bigger goal of SpaceX. The launch site is set to be Florida’s Kennedy Space Center. The spaceflight will be launched at 4:33 pm precisely.

The Elon factor

Any discussion on SpaceX would go incomplete without mentioning some writings about its founder & CEO Elon Musk.

Recently the controversial CEO drew some criticism when he suggested that COVID – 19 is fake. But no doubt, he the man of the hour.

Elon has 34.5 million followers on Twitter but his writings on the microblogging website fall between a self-promotional businessman and a disquiet Teenager. For his tweets alone, Musk has got sued many times, sometimes costing him too much money in terms of fines, and once the chairmanship of Tesla too.

Recently the Billionaire also vowed in a tweet to sell most of his possession. He didn’t even shut Tesla and forced its employees to work through it, downplaying the Coronavirus pandemic.

But even after Elon’s controversial public image, SpaceX and Tesla make its investors enough money and achieving one milestone after the other.

After saying all that, SpaceX is undeniably an accomplishment for everyone and the launch on Wednesday will prove to be an essential step towards Musk’s vision to explore space and at this point it’s hard to imagine the future of SpaceX and Tesla without ELON MUSK.
