The violence on January 26th by some of the protesters misled by misinformation was extremely disheartening. One of the accused was the Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu. A video clip surfaced on the internet when the angry farmers disappointed with him chased him away from the protest. He soon after the incident went live and tried to justify his action.
The farmers did not support the violence and had declared him as ‘traitor’.
His sudden support with the farmers was also a shock to many as he had been a supporter of the state since a long time and had been quoting Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
His involvement in the violent act was proved by his confession. Since then the police have been searching for him. Delhi Police went ahead to announce a reward of 1 Lac Rupees to anyone who has any information on Deep Sidhu and the other two partners who were involved in disgracing Republic Day.
With leaving no stones unturned the police had attempted many raids but were somehow failed at several attempts in Delhi as well as Punjab.
Finally, their efforts resulted in fruition and they have arrested Deep Sidhu along with his brother Mandeep Sidhu. He was captured by a special unit of Delhi Police.
