As the Forbes list is out, it shows the most honest rankings of the Top 10 highest paid actresses of 2020. 

Sofia Vergara is Forbes “Highest Paid Actress” of 2020 

As the Forbes list is out, it shows the most honest rankings of the Top 10 highest-paid actresses of 2020. 

With earnings of $43 Million (Equivalent Rs. 315 Crores), Colombian-American actress, presenter, and model, Sofia Vergara topped the list of Forbes Highest-Paid Actress, crediting her ever shining television shows and other endeavours. She was the top-earning American Television actress in 2012, 2013, and  2016 whereas second highest-paid TV actress in the world as of 2019. 

Sofia’s earnings are mostly derived from her prominent role in the seasons of Modern Family, earning  $500,000 per episode and her role as the judge of America’s Got Talent 2020, with an earning of est. $10  Million per season. 

Going down the line, Angelina Jolie stands second with $35.5 Million, credits to her receiving from  Marvel Studios for her role in “The Eternals”. Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) takes third place with  $31.5 Million.  

Fourth and fifth positions were achieved by Melissa McCarthy ($25 Million), Meryl Streep ($24 Million)  respectively. Emily Blunt’s new movie, The Quiet Place 2, was set to be in Cinemas only to be held back due to Pandemic Strike but still, it didn’t steal away her paycheque, securing the sixth spot with $22.5  Million. Nicole Kidman followed close at seventh place with $22 Million. 

Longest Running Soap Opera “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Ellen Pompeo took the eight position with $19  Million, “The Handmaid”s Tale” actress Elisabeth Moss at the ninth spot for $16 Million and for the first time to be in the list, Viola Davis rounded off the Top 10 with $15.5 Million earning for her lead roles in  “How to Get Away with Murder” and the upcoming Netflix film “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”.  

Though no Indian actress made it to this list hopes are high from the next list from Forbes.  Combining the earnings leading up to June is a total of $254 Million. The numbers projected last year were though 20 percent higher than this year, looking at the successful releases like Avengers: Endgame,  though Scarlett Johansson, who topped the list last year, couldn’t make it to the list. 

Blaming the pandemic, with all the American Theatres and production shut until further notice, many  made it to the list owing to the television and streaming platforms and many holding back their projects, 

awaiting the huge response from the fans and audiences that many not do justice over the streaming platforms protecting the viewers for a spectacular Cinematic Experience.
