At the age of 92, lata mangeshkar took her last breath and bade and adieu to the world leaving her melodies behind. We pay her our tributes.

The nation is in shock on the demise of great legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. With heavy heart we inform that this singer who has given us an era of great music and rhythm has left the mortal world at the age of 92. On 6th of February at 8:12 am she breathed her last. According to sources Lata Mangeshkar could not survive due to multiple organ failures


Lata Mangeshkar has brought immense laurels to the music industry of the country. The nightangle of India, as people know her, has given new perspective to the music and notes of it.


Lata Mangeshkar was born in Indore, Madhya pradesh. Her parent were well renowned Marathi theatre actor and Hindustani classical musicians. Interestingly she recorded the first song at the age of 13, in a Marathi movie.
Her first Hindi song was for movie ‘Aap ki sewa mein’. This legendary singer got her training from the other legend ustad Aman Ali khan of bhendi bazaar gharana.


The most important breakthrough achievement of Lata Mangeshkar is the fact, due to her influence other singers started putting pressure on music companies to give credit to the singers on the records.
She has worked with the most notable and great music composers like S.D Burman. Naushad Ali, Madan Mohan, and she shared her mic with singers like Rafi and Kishore Kumar.

In 1963 Lata Mangeshkar gave strong live performance in Ramlila maidan of new Delhi bringing Nehru to tears with her song ae mere watan ke logo to give a tribute to soldiers who lost their lives in 1962 China war.


In year 2012 she launched her music label LM music. And with this she recorded thousands of songs all across different languages from Hindi, to Panjabi, to Chhattisgarhi through different genres from songs to Gurbani, to qawwali.


She received great honours not from her own nation but also countries like France and Britain also recognised her talent and honoured her.
She won Padma Bhushan in the year 1969.
lata mangeshkar won national award for movie parichay in the category of best play back singer.
She won Dada Saheb Phalke award in 1989.
She received Padma Vibhushan in 1999, and Bharat ratan in 2001 along with this, she has honour of the first recipient of Maharashtra ratan.


Over 70 years of her devotion to her work and music and singing in 20 languages. She is no less than Nightangle of our nation. Her music, she once told will always be living even when she leaves this mortal world.
