Earlier we were reported that Rohit Shetty wanted his movie to be released as movie, like the old school. He wanted it to be released in theatres. Shetty had spoken multiple times that when he makes his movies he always keeps in mind that his audience is going to have a shared experience in theatres. Clearly that does not seem to be the case anymore.

The Golmaal and Singham director has been fighting his case that he needs more share when it comes to the theatrical release of his movie. He had stood up for the theatres by not giving in to the streaming era during the pandemic even when he was offered a great deal. He believed that the way he was patient and had the back of the theatre owners, they should pay him back by giving him more share in the profit.

Both the parties have largely disagreed with each other and do not wish to give in. The multiplex owners believe that they themselves have faced a great loss at the time of pandemic and with the government allowing 100% occupancy is going to be a good time for them to balance out their previous losses.

Rohit Shetty is now looking at offers from OTT Platform for the release as he is not happy with the owners making a demand as high as his. Since he has now set his mind to go through no negotiations, he has withdrawn from releasing his movie in national cinemas. This is going to cause a lot of harm to the multiplexes but both the parties do not want to lay it off from the profits that will be made in theatres.

Anyhoo! we will be waiting for the movie. OTT or multiplex.
