Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez formally canceled their two-year commitment, saying in a proclamation Thursday that they “understood we are better as companions.”
“We will keep on cooperating and backing each other on our common organizations and activities,” Lopez and Rodriguez said in a joint articulation.
“We wish the best for one another and each other’s kids. Keeping in mind them, the lone another remark we need to say is thank you to every individual who has sent kind words and backing.”
Lopez is the mother of twins Max and Emme, 13, whom she imparts to ex Marc Anthony. Rodriguez is the father to two girls, Ella, 12, and Natasha, 16.
Reports whirled a month ago that the musician, 51, and previous Yankees baseball player, 45, had punched out, yet they delivered an articulation at the time saying that they were “working through certain things.”
“They never authoritatively separated and had discussed it yet are still attached. They hit a difficult situation that made them consider what they ought to do,” different sources near the couple had said. “They are staying together. They are working through things.”
Lopez and Rodriguez began dating in 2017 and reported their commitment in March 2019 while traveling in the Bahamas. Because of the Covid pandemic, they needed to defer their wedding twice.
“We’ve discussed that without a doubt. That is to say, at our age, we’ve both been hitched previously, it resembles, do we get hitched? Do we not? What’s the significance here for us?” Lopez disclosed to Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy in December.
