Have you ever seen people fasting on certain days and periods of the month? You might consider them old schooled but there is a scientific reason for fasting. All religions set aside certain days of fasting and it is also considered as good for health. That’s why in Hindu culture design own certain days are known as Ekadashi has been designated for this purpose. When we fast our body destroys old disease and healthy cells and obtain the necessary energy. These weak and unhealthy cells are the ones that cause cancer and other diseases in the body. This ability of a body to eat weak and unhealthy cells is known as autophagy.
In the year in the year, 2016 Yoshinori Ohsumi from Japan won the Nobel prize for medicine for his work on autophagy in our body.
By this, we can keep diseases in the bag and also prevent the untimely onset of sent symptoms of old age.


Thus there is a benefit from fasting to eyes or even more number of times a month we can give our body an opportunity to repair itself and you need not go into the extremes of fasting to do it in moderation only.


We can also do intermittent fasting with a simple change in our lifestyle. As we listen from our ancestors not to eat heavy food after 7-8pm. It is because our body’s first priority is survival, to maintain it our brain stops low priority things for survival e.g body repair, removal of unnecessary items from the body, etc. So if we eat a light food till 7-8pm then it will take 6-7 hours to digest so it will digest till 2-3 am in the morning while sleeping and an average person sleep till 6-8 am in the morning and take first meal till 9-10 am so our body has 6-7 hours to do repair and other stuff to maintain our body. If someone wants to stretch fasting time one can maintain it 12-13 hours of fasting easily. Fasting time includes the time of last meal intake (7-8 pm) and when we take the next one (9-10am). It is too easy to implement. Improve your body and lose excess fat ( if you want to) by just a simple change in your routine.
