Katy Perry Cradles Her 9-Month Baby bump and delivered her new song, which describes the challenges and mystery that come along with the female gender
The video was released on 20th August; the video began with Katy Perry sing, “Is it the way I talk sweet? ….The way my skin is soft? ….Or how I can be a bitch?” and the acoustic performance began.
In the visuals Katy Perry was wearing a flowy purple dress and as she began her singing; she placed her hand on the 9 months baby bump as if connecting herself to her unborn baby girl and started delivering the heartfelt ode.
In an appearance on SiriusXM’s virtual Celebrity Session around in July; Katy Perry talked about the heart touching message that this song “What Makes a Woman” is gonna deliver.
Katy explained that ‘What Makes You a Woman’ is a song about how you are going to have a go through a tough time measuring what truly makes a woman because women are so many things.
To which she continued; “And I like to say not one thing, not just one thing. And such chameleon, and so adaptable, and so malleable and transformative, and can handle the weight of the world on their backs and do it all in heels. while making it seems so effortless sometimes”.
Katy Perry revealed that she feels empowered; being a working woman and creating a life. To which she added that it feels like you can create limbs while promoting a record; and finally revealed that this song ‘What Makes You a Woman’ will be a song which is kind of secretly dedicated to her unborn baby.
The lyrics of the song ‘What Makes You a Woman’ started as,
“She’s always been a perfect mystery;
Could spend your whole life, but you couldn’t;
Describe what makes a woman;
And that’s what makes a woman to me”, and she made every word touch the heart.
Katy Perry Music Release Tied Up With her Pregnancy
Katy Perry used her music video of “Never Worn White” to announce her pregnancy to the world; and since her music release is tied up with her pregnancy.
“What Makes You a Woman” is out a week before the release of “Smile”, her 6th studio album.
Katy is pretty comfortable to show off her baby bump and her pregnancy figure; as she frolicked along her baby bump in the video “Daisies” and for the official video of “Smile” she is showcasing her baby bump in a number of clown theme outfits.
Although this purple flowy dress is her new maternity look, it might also be her last because of the fast approaching of her due date.
