During this period fans recalled the time when Craig Ferguson refused to make jokes over her.
In 2007 ‘The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson’ announced that he would never make any jokes on Britney Spears.
This was the time when she was dealing with her mental health, leads her to rehab for a day, shaved her head, and brandish her umbrella on a paparazzo’s car.
He was like people laugh at other’s tragedies. “I used to watch America’s Funniest Home Videos where I observe everyone was laughing at the kid falling over and over, I was like, damn man put your camera down and help that kid, why you are holding your camera.
After that Craig went on self-analysis and decide not to make these kinds of jokes.
In an interview in 2019, he explained the decision not to make jokes on Spears
“I went to the office for the shoot and everyone was ready with Britney jokes and I was like, No, I will not do it and I was genuinely upset. This event coincides with my 15th anniversary and at that time I research Britney’s condition and I thought, I don’t know what I will do on the show but for sure I am not doing this prepared stuff because I don’t want to” Craig said.
In his show he declared on-air “tonight, No jokes on Britney Spears, She has two kids, She is 25 years old, She is baby herself. She is a baby”.
In that session, he opens up about his addictions and comments that from now he will only attack powerful peoples like politicians, etc, not on celebrities when they are in their down phase.
