For sure, Tenet is the buzziest movie of 2020 having lots of expectations from Nolan and amazing star cast. Although much has been talked about in the movie by the cast, people still don’t know too much about the actual plot.
With a star cast including Robert Pattinson, John David Washington, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Sir Michael Caine, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kenneth Branagh, Tenet is for sure the buzziest and most talked film recently. Movie buffs are dying to get into the theatres to see the film. The most talked subject about the movie is its plot. Well, no one really knows what’s it gonna be.
Originally it was to be released on 17th July 2020, but due to this pandemic, film’s release has been postponed without any specific date. The second trailer of TENET also doesn’t show its release date. Yes! We all can understand.
The biggest clue we have received till now comes from Robert Pattinson’s GQ interview, where he described how he modeled himself for his Tenet character.
Pattinson also refused all the claims about the film being Time Traveller, Remarking ” It is not a Time Traveller, There is actually no Time Travelling in the movie. That’s the thing I am approved to say.”
Robert Pattinson’s revelation about the plot is attention Grabbing and nail-biting. The Comments of Robert obviously teasing, because time travel is one of the core factors about Nolan’s movie on which he sets the narrative of his films. But this is unlike Director’s past movies. So in this article, with Pattinson’s comment on Tenet’s plot, let’s break down what we actually know about the movie ahead of its release (which isn’t yet decided).
Revelation through the Trailer
The trailer itself is a box full of puzzles that tell minimum in terms of characters and the plot, except one thing that Pattinson and Washington are working on a mission together. At one point, Washington’s apparent boss played by Martin Donovan, also Notes the word ‘Tenet’, which will help Washington in getting more information and for sure gonna lead him to some dangerous paths. From impending world war III to shots of an armor-clad man sliding backward on the floor, to a car getting crashed and then reassembling, all these moments in the trailer promise us that there are many mind-boggling elements to the story. Combining all the premises we have learned so far, it seems that the two-man spy team of Robert Pattinson and John Washington is going to be on a mission to prevent the use of physics-defying weapons which could bring something which will be worse than a nuclear war. Maybe that’s why they were wearing those oxygen masks in the trailer. May be!!
What has the star cast revealed till now
Till now the story and plot described by the star cast are a kind of bits and pieces information. It didn’t spill out too many secrets that we all are looking for. Even Sir Michael Caine, one of Nolan’s frequent collaborator, hasn’t revealed the plot, because, he said, he simply doesn’t have any idea what it is all about. All he had was one day’s work. He did his part with John David Washington and hasn’t heard anything since. He told in an interview.
The most vocal Tenet cast till now is Robert Pattinson when it comes to discussing what the movie might be all about. But even he’s managed to keep in real details. While talking to the USA today, Pattinson said, “I got locked in a room to read the script.” He also said that Chris Nolan might be the only director now who can do what is essentially a very personal, independent movie that has such a huge scale. He said that He read the scripts and it was all unreal.
The other member of the cast, who has given some significant insights about his time working on the Nolan, is Washington, John David Washington. In an entertainment weekly, John briefly discussed his big stunt in the movie. He confided how terrified he was when Nolan said Action! Because the stunt was to be performed in the boat and he doesn’t know how to drive a boat. But he had to act as he does know.

We all can expect the shy or coy behavior of Nolan when it comes to revealing the plot of TENET. But he himself has also given some important insights while talking to entertainment magazines in 2019. He said that they are jumping off from the point of view of an espionage film, but they are going a number of different places. He told that when it comes to international reach, this will be their biggest one till now. They shot in 7 countries with a massive cast. He also said that this is for sure the most ambitious film he’s ever made.
Chris has also revealed that John David Washington is going to be the pretty much hero of the film. Talking of Robert Pattinson, he said that. Yes! Rob is fuckin with you. Because Rob has a complete grasp of the script. He also said that Rob is pretty much a partner in crime for this.
Expectations
At the end of the day, Tenet is coming out from the pocket of Nolan. We all can expect a big twist to be revealed at some point in time. Even If you put aside the time travel theory, the laws of physics are going to be thrown out of the window, but with a lot of beauty, and with larger than life dramatic effects.
At this point, we can just say that bars are too high and everyone is too curious to watch this great myth in the theatres. Hopefully soon.
