On the day of WMH Selena Gomez went live with former surgeon general DOctor “Vivek Murthy” for a discussion about chronic loneliness.

In the session, Selena opened up about her social media boycott why she deleted social media apps 2years back. The pair were sat down for discussing chronic loneliness and the healing power of connection the video was shared on Selena’s RARE BEAUTY Instagram page.

Selena said that I have not had social media apps for 2 years I am vocal about it. It always makes me feel lonely and disconnected.

The singer said that I m “anti-social media” because of the way people discuss my personal life on social media, whenever I saw the things I was like why I m doing this? if I constantly think like I am doing something wrong so definitely it hurt me.

Then I decided to handle the things and took a decision that I am going to out of this.

Since I removed the apps from my phone I felt very free I had a lot of time with my family and with myself too. I spent more time with my family which made me normalized in this situation which isn’t normal I guess this was more important to me also because I need to relax my mind my job is to make people happy I need to connect with people and give them happiness through my work, and that makes me happy as well.

Yes, it is difficult sometimes to be an artist but at the end of the day our only purpose is just making our fans happy Social media is a platform that gives us positive and negative both the vibes.

I deleted it for 2 years because I was wanting some of my mutual space at that time I was thinking about my life only that what was happening in it so I decided to step out.

And I came back with a fresh mind and positive vibes.
