The American singer Katy Perry reveals how she went through a mental breakdown and also considered taking her own life when life struck her down at the rock bottom ground in both her personal life as well as in professional life with her split from boyfriend Orlando Bloom in 2017 and with a drop in her career.

On a Canadian radio show “Q on CBS” Perry opened up about her mental health issues and mental breakdowns which made her suicidal. She revealed that seeing her career on a downward spiral had a timorous impact on her and which “literally broke me into half”.

Katy Perry the “American Idol” judge told the host of the show Tom Power that, “I lost my smile”, adding to which she said “I don’t know if my smile was ever fully, like, authentically mine but I was riding on the high of a smile for a long time which was the validation, love and admiration from outside world, and then that shifted.”

The “Firework” singer who had reconcile with Orlando Bloom and is now expecting her first child with him recalled how she crashed by revealing “I had broken up with my boyfriend, who is now my baby – daddy to be, and then I was excited about flying high off the next record and the record didn’t get me high anymore …. The Validation didn’t get me high and so I just crashed.”

Perry who rose to prominence from her second album, “One of the Boys” in 2008, believed that breaking down was also an important part in her life cause through that she found a new wholeness in a different way and got more of a dimensional view than just living life like a thirsty pop star all the time.

Perry believes that its gratitude that saved her life, “Gratitude is probably the thing that saved my life because if I didn’t find that, I would have wallowed in my own sadness… but I found a way to be grateful.”
