Here is List of 10 Hollywood Motivational movies that are sure to get your spirits up.

  1. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

There are some movies that need to be mentioned first as a sign of respect. These include Forrest Gump (1994), The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), Fight Club (1999) etc. Any of these can be chosen for about 2 hours for sheer blood pumping motivation. However, all of these have a such a huge well-deserved following that it’d be a rare case you not having heard about them.  One among these is Shawshank redemption which has lost some of its popularity with time but it still remains one of the most masterfully created stories that depicts how in the worst of circumstances, where feeling helpless is only natural there are some who persevere and still lead a beautiful life.
  1. Whiplash (2014)

The Social Network (2010) or Jobs (2013) are Hollywood’s best true stories that show how one man reached the skies. While these stories take us on a real journey showing us the challenges they faced and how they cleverly overcame those. A fictional story is much simpler, practice and hardheadedness that’s all. Whiplash is a beautiful story of a drummer and his desire to hone himself. This story is brimming with passion that we’d even go so far as to call it a thriller. It’s kind of like if Rocky Balboa wanted to be a drummer and Mickey Goldmill was an angry, rude, mean and preferring tough-love kind of coach.
  1. Begin Again (2013)

Music itself is motivational so it makes sense that this is another movie entry that has music as its base. Begin Again is the only of its kind movie. It’s neither mainstream romantic nor is it a straightforward drama even the story is not greatly striking. What makes this movie great is its simplicity and its absolutely brilliant character development moving along a very mellow storyline that captures you on a different level. This movie will not leave you fired-up rather it’ll give you something that you can visit back whenever you need to feel a certain assurity that things will work out. You can watch this one as many times you may want it just never gets old, like an episode of F.R.I.N.D.E.S. Without a doubt one of the best of all 10 Hollywood motivational movies.
  1. A Rainy Day in New York (2019)

Hollywood is best at making iconic hopeless romantic movies. So, this may be the most ironic entry in a list of Motivational Movies. As to why then it is included? It might not be here if it was a ranked list of 10 Hollywood motivational movies but you are most likely to relate to it. It’s a very slow-moving story that revolves around a couple of teenagers with diverse personalities that complement each other and during the very short span of a day the small changes the lives of these characters go through end up giving off some confidence that things often change for the better if you let them. This may be more on the side of a feel-good movie than a motivational one but the difference between the two is so subtle anyway that this entry does make sense.
  1. The Aviator (2004)

If you disagree with the previous entry then this one is a proper motivational one. This is biopic of Howard Hughes who is described as a brilliant businessman, pilot, engineer, film director and philanthropist. He was one of the most financially successful men of his time. It’s the kind of movie that should have been a series. There is so much to the life of Howard Hughes that you can find motivation in almost any part of it. At times It’s hard to believe that it is a true story. If it wasn’t a true story it might as well be a ‘how to live a full life’ guidebook.
  1. Into The Wild (2007)

Not everyone needs the same kind of motivation. While most need a very sincere kind of motivation to set off on a journey which has a pot of gold at the end some just need to be motivated to start the journey that does not give any reward. It’s another true story of an American traveler Christopher McCandless who renounces all his possessions and sets off on a journey to nowhere in particular across America. It’s another story of how to live your life to the fullest and yet it couldn’t be more different to the previous entry. This movie can be used both to motivate someone who’s already a brave soul or to scare people straight into living safely and comfortably.
  1. Pay It Forward (2000)

Depending on how you take it, it can either restore your faith in the world or it can reinforce your belief that only a fool believes he can change the world. Whether you feel motivated or disheartened after this movie one thing you’ll definitely agree with is that this is one masterpiece of a movie. Not only is the story and the idea brilliant, the performances are mind-blowing as well. The entire experience of this movie is priceless. And what cannot be said for almost any other movie on this list, this movie is for everyone. We’d even suggest to watch it with someone rather than alone.
  1. Mulan (1998 or 2020)

If a movie is still relevant after 22 years you can have some confidence that this movie hits on some actual points. While the live action remake marks the issue of women empowerment a lot more clearly the original is just a story without any agenda. Even with the outlining of the issue the live action still remains true to its original story, and does not abandon the story to favor the agenda. It’s a brilliant movie that incorporate true Chinese culture of that time with beautiful scenic backdrops and gently but clearly gives a message through the story. If you’re still on the fence about it, you can always go for the original animated version of 1998.
  1. Togo (2019)

We cannot clearly explain how but this movie is one of the most motivating movies of all times. It just leaves you motivated, filled with that feeling of ‘anything is possible’, the truest motivation. What adds immensely to the effect that this happens to be a true story. A story of courage, trust, perseverance and Friendship. Of-course friendship, Togo was a Dog.
  1. To The Bone (2017)

Movies like Still Alice (2014), Midnight Sun (2018), 50/50 (2011) are a great source of inspiration. To the Bone falls in the same category however where most movies have a romantic arc as the major part this story puts the struggles at the front and romantic arc complements from the background. The desire of the characters to make themselves better and fight the illness has a deep effect on the audience. And the strength shown by them is very contagious. This concludes our hand-picked and carefully and thoughtfully crafted list of 10 Hollywood motivational movies.
