We have seen how Bollywood has shown an interest in the history of India since decades now. Mangal Pandey, Kesari, Bajirao Mastani and of course Jodha Akbar have all shown some interesting perspectives and resurfaced some emotions. The Battle of Bhima Koregaon is added to the list of historic-periodic movies of Bollywood. The movie is based on the battle fought between Peshwa Regime and the Britishers in 1818.

The movie stars Arjun Ram Pal and directed by an ex-IAS Mr Ramesh Thete. The battle is set to hit the theaters on September 17th this year. As the films have been announcing and calling dibs on the dates, the film makers of this movie also got their hands on it.

The movie covers a very crucial battle of Indian History. The Battle of Koregaon was between Peshwas and Britishers. The East India Company had hired soldiers from Indian origin including Mahars. Arjum Rampal happens to play the role of one of the Mahar regiment soldiers who with 800 others went to fight the battle. This movie might also account for the caste system of India. It was a win for East India Company to take over the rest of the west and the south of India.

Even though the movie makers have not quite publicised the movie well and very little is known as the trailer is not even out yet but they have been very firm about when to release the movie.

Arjun Ram Pal will have Milind Gunaji, Krushna abhishek, Abhimanyu Singh and even Sunny Leone to share the big screen with.

While the movie unfortunately clashed with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek which is directed by Anubhav Sinha. Ayushmann Khuranna and Anubhav Sinha have worked together last for their caste-based film Article 15.
