The movie remains the fast paced for character to build up.
Love hostel has been on OTT platforms. the furor it has before eth release seem go down. As the movie though a thriller did not come up like the one. the movie which has Vikrant Massey and sanya Malhotra in the lead. Bobby Deol is working as the main villain of the movie. love hostel revolves around the issue of honor killing. Many such movies were on the same topic in the past. So, the love hostel is another addition to the issue.
The movie starts with sanya Malhotra and her character Jyoti. Jyoti is a grand daughter of a very influential political family. She is in love with Vikrant Massey also Ahmed in the movie. So basically, it showed an interfaith marriage. The couple take the vows of marriage with each other and take a shelter ion the government run shelters for such couples. Though they think they are in safe abode. But the place is not what they think is. So, the grandmother of Jyoti who is an MLA hires the hitman. Booby Deol plays the role of the hitman Dagar. Scars on his face and he has no story backing up his character. But sadly, the reasons and traumas were not revealed till the end of the movie.
The movie is so fast that the director didn’t take time to build the characters. The characters of the movie remain half baked and loose. There will be times when you will wonder that movie is so much edited that it has lost the essence of it. The characters lose their authenticity. The fans can not have an empathy towards the lead characters because of the lack of the ground.
The character of dagar, the hitman is again so loosely based. In few of the tweets the fans said that dagar as a character needs the prequel.
On the acting front, sanya Malhotra shines through out the movie. She delivered a powerful and strong performance.
Vikrant Massey’s acting prowess were not put to use much. He could have excelled in many scenes but the bad writing of the script takes the charm away. He had very limited sphere to act.
Bobby Deol as mentioned above was again a character whose screen presence was strong. He has given great dialogue with conviction. But again, his character lacks a strong standing.
Over all the movie has great actors and acting. But it falls flat on the department of writing and editing. This thriller lacked the thrill because every thing was at the speed of the light with multipole small plots.
