One more remake has come out. Clearly bollywood has dipped its hands into remakes this season. Cuttputlli is one such movie. Cuttputlli is a remake of a tamil hit movie Ratsasan. Also,The movie gained a lot of praises for the kind of thriller it showed on the screen. Ratsasan which came out in 2018 has left a huge impact on the audience . So it is natural that people will compare the two movies. The movie is set in the town of kasauli. A serial killer who goes haywire and starts killing the young girls. The brutality and suspense with which he kills will definitely give you chills down your spine.

Furthermore,Mussoorie is the location where the shooting took place. The background and the location of the movie has helped in creating the narration. The hills have given a strong narrative to the story.

Aksahy kumar playing the role of arjan sethi, who is an SI is investigating the case. Initially his seniors have no faith in his methods of investigation. But subsequently as crime increases his senior SHO Parmar gives him the task of nabbing the criminal. Sargun Mehta is playing the role of SHO Parmar.

The original movie is quite lengthy . Its running time is 2 hours 50 mins. The director of Cuttputlli has made sure to cut down the running time to 2 hours 14 minutes. But while Ranjit Tewari cuts down the movie, it loses the essence. The viewers can find a lack of character building in the movie. Infact, you can feel clueless about the criminal and the motives behind the crime. The movie has a fast pace. The second half of the movie is seemingly too obvious.

The character of Akshay Kumar is relatable and simple. This is definitely a fresh thing . As you will not see him getting into larger than life action sequels.but apart from that portraying akshay kumar as a 36 year old cop was not much convincing.

Also,Sargun Mehta  has acted well for her role. Furthermore, Chandrachur singh has done a great job. Also rakul preet has utilized a limited screen space in an effective way. But the actor who deserves a mention here is Sujith Shankar. He has done a beautiful job and justice to his role. His body language and acting has managed to bring your fear to the surface.

The dialogues are not worth remembering. But for a release on OTT platform this movie is a good watch for relatable characters.
